Root Canals

Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic therapy, is a dental procedure performed to save a tooth that has become infected or severely decayed. At The Dental Chamber, our experienced team specializes in providing gentle and effective root canal treatments to restore your oral health and alleviate discomfort.

A root canal becomes necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the tooth containing nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue, becomes infected or inflamed. This can occur due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures on the tooth, large fillings, cracks or chips in the tooth, or trauma to the tooth.

  • Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is administered to numb the tooth and surrounding area, ensuring your comfort throughout the procedure.

  • Access: Our dentist creates a small opening in the tooth to access the infected or damaged pulp.

  • Cleaning: The infected pulp is carefully removed, and the root canals are thoroughly cleaned and shaped using specialized instruments.

  • Filling: The cleaned root canals are filled with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha to seal the space and prevent further infection.

  • Restoration: After the root canal procedure, a dental crown may be placed on the tooth to restore its strength, function, and appearance.
